Teacher Certification

The mVm Teacher Certification is a rigorous and inspiring year-long training program provided in four terms. The first three terms are taken on a robust online teaching platform with video content and reading materials, enhanced through weekly Zoom classes. Appropriate for those with and without prior mVm experience, students learn each mVm exercise by understanding it, embodying it, and teaching it. The final term is a two-week, all-day, in-person intensive.

The Certification immerses teachers-in-training in mVm exercises, techniques, and pedagogy. Each Certified mVm Teacher is unique, and the program helps build an awareness of how each individual student teaches mVm work through their own unique lens and with their own passion.

Origins of mVm

Founded by Scott Miller, the mVm approach to communication is a transformational way to embody presence that sustains the audience’s attention.

mVm was refined over decades of field and scientific research at world renowned institutions including NYU Tisch’s Graduate Acting Program, University of North Carolina’s MFA Professional Actor Training Program, UNC’s Department of Peace, War & Defense/Public Policy.

It draws on countless years of guidance and generosity from collaborations with NYU Langone’s Voice Center, UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, NYU’s Department of Psychology & Neural Science, the Institute of Core Energetics, the Miller Voice Method Studio, Native American-led communities in the Catskills, and individual collaborators around the world.
