mVm Classroom & Community Expectations

Mission

mVm is a training system grounded in compassion, transparency, frankness and curiosity, and our training program teaches people tangible and repeatable skills to embody these core values with breath and expression. We desire a world where people of all walks of life can use mVm’s tools in private and professional relationships to increase their patience, compassion, effective listening, and conflict management.

Values

mVm Miller Voice Method® relies on a lively, present, and respectful community to thrive. Each individual’s unique perspective is essential to the success of the methodology and the community’s growth.

Learning and Community Building with mVm

At mVm, we have many ways our community members interact, from our Teacher Certification program, to our Pop-up classes, to our Presence Training Community Hours. In each of these scenarios, we ask participants, teachers, and facilitators to uphold our values.

There are some behaviors that individuals can engage in that can either build up the community or, conversely, make it difficult for the community to thrive.

For that reason, the following guidelines are articulated to help everyone navigate while engaging in community activities organized by Scott Miller Enterprise, Inc.:

Conduct

Participants and Teachers…

  • Will not engage with mVm classes and events* while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other substances that alter consciousness. *This excludes mVm social engagements where the responsible consumption of alcohol is expressly included.

  • Will seek to maintain the highest level of investment in the learning process. In Teacher Certification, teachers-in-training will fully invest in the Learn it, Embody it, Teach it model.

  • Will communicate in such a way that is respectful towards the creative process of others and does not discriminate against, harass or intimidate fellow learners.

  • Will subscribe to academic and artistic integrity in the observance of basic honesty with respect to work, words, ideas & actions.

  • Will not engage in sex or gender discrimination, including sexual misconduct such as sexual harassment or sexual assault, stalking, intimate partner violence, or offensive or intimidating sexual language.

  • Will respect the intellectual property of the creators of mVm Miller Voice Method® through appropriate citations and credit to the organization.

  • Will actively engage in the work and seek to contribute to its growth through generously sharing one’s own unique perspective and experience.

  • Will respect others’ time by clearly communicating and providing notice with as much advance notice as possible on matters such as lateness, absences, or other scenarios that might impact the structure or integrity of a class or meeting.

  • Will respect others’ communicated boundaries as related to touch and personal space per each individual’s preferences at that time.

If a member is struggling to adhere to any of the above…

mVm leadership will meet with that member, discuss the community guidelines, and address appropriate remedies in our commitment to maintain a creative and safe environment for the entire community.

This document, like the technique, is process-oriented and will evolve.
